about

Oumar:

I could feel the strong link of African origin with the black Brazilians when I was in Salvador. Especially with the samba groups that played on the street, I heard some rhythms of the tempo which is typical of Senegal. It was the first time I heard it outside of Senegal.

lyrics

Senegal and Brasil have something in common
It’s Africa
Senegal and Brasil have something in common
It’s Africa

When I went to Salvador in Bahia
And i heard the music
I got goosebumps
The music they played
Reminds me of Senegal
Where I come from
It washed over me

Chorus:
Senegal and Brasil have something in common
It’s Africa
Senegal and Brasil have something in common
It’s Africa

The black man’s history

(chorus)

It washed over me

You black man
Where are you from?
You black man
What is your history?
You black man
Where did you come from?
We say Africa

We have something in common
It’s Africa
